Step 1: Starting The Software
EPSON Software Updater is an application that checks for new or updated software on the internet and installs it. You can also update the printer’s firmware and manual.
If you do not have the Epson Software Updater utility, you can download it here.
Starting on Windows
- Under Windows 10 click the start button, and then select Epson Software > EPSON Software Updater.
- Under Windows 8.1/Windows 8 enter the application name in the search charm, and then select the displayed icon.
- Under Windows 7/Windows Vista/Windows XP click the start button, and then select All Programs (or Programs) > Epson Software > EPSON Software Updater.
Note: You can also start EPSON Software Updater by clicking the printer icon on the task bar on the desktop, and then selecting Software Update.
Starting on Mac OS
Select Go > Applications > Epson Software > EPSON Software Updater.
Step 2: Select Your Model
- Select your model from the list, if necessary.
- Select Firmware Updater by checking the box next to it. (Epson recommends installing all Essential Product Updates.)
- Click the Install item(s) button.
If a message appears asking, “Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?”, select Yes.
Then, select Agree and click the OK button.
Step 3: Updating The Firmware
When you see the Epson Firmware Updater screen, click the Start button. Please wait for the firmware update to finish before using the printer. Do not unplug the power cable or turn off your printer during the update. If your printer has an LCD screen, do not turn it off even if the screen turns blue or goes blank.
The printer will restart automatically once the update is complete. If your printer has an LCD screen, it will display the home screen after restarting.
When the firmware update is finished, click the Finish button.
When the completion message appears, click the OK button and close the Epson Software Updater utility.
